Joseph Williams Sr. Scholar Award

The Joseph Williams Sr. Scholar Award in Honor of the late Joseph Williams Sr. He played an instrumental role in Fort Wayne’s education system as a black male elementary teacher until his retirement in 2007. Educating others was his pride and joy therefore this scholarship is in his honor. This is an annual award given to a graduating high school senior attending a college/university.

  • Must be a graduating senior

  • Must have an acceptance letter from an accredited college/university at time of funds dispersal.

  • Amount given will be voted on by committee annually

Ferguson Scholar Award

The Ferguson Scholar Award is in honor of the late Jonathon Ferguson.  Jonathon was an alumnus of Tennessee State University.  He was ambitious and motivating. He always let others know “Keep it 1000” with yourself.  Therefore, this scholarship is to honor him. This is an annual award given to a graduating high school senior.

  • Senior must live in the Fort Wayne or surrounding area.

  • DOES NOT require college admission (we know college is not for everyone).

  • Amount given will be voted on by committee annually.
